The Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and International Funds for Agricultural Development (IFAD), has launched the 5th Joint Supervision Mission of the Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprise–Niger Delta (LIFE-ND) Project in Benin City, Edo State.
The mission brought together key stakeholders from the Federal Government, NDDC, IFAD, and participating states to evaluate the project’s progress and impact on rural livelihoods.
Speaking during a media engagement, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Country Director, Mrs. Dede Ekoue, and the LIFE ND Project National Project Coordinator, Engr. (Dr.) Abiodun Sanni, emphasized the project’s measurable contribution to reducing unemployment, improving household incomes, and strengthening food security in participating states.
The LIFE-ND Project operates through an agribusiness incubation model, equipping beneficiaries with technical skills, mentorship, and start-up support in value chains such as cassava, rice, aquaculture, and poultry production, in Edo State. Project leadership reiterated their commitment to deepening inclusive rural transformation as the project advances into the Additional Financing phase.
