Family Enterprises Project (Rice)
Rice (Oryza sativa) is one of the most cultivated crops in the world. It is the third most important cereal grown and consumed globally. In Nigeria, rice is cultivated in almost all ecological belts available in the country as they all provide favorable environments to support the crop. This has made rice a staple crop in the nation as it is consumed by almost every individual in the nation in different forms.
In the LIFE-ND project, only 3 state which practices rice as an enterprise. The project has impacted the lives of its beneficiaries in rice production, seed multiplication and marketing.
Faro 44 is the rice variety used by the LIFE-ND project because of its better quality with an output and production success.
